About Me

My Life

Hi there. I’m Linda, a small-town girl living the dream. I’ve been married to my partner in crime, Scott, for over 20 years. We’ve raised our twin daughters, now in college, on the same street I grew up on in Homer, Michigan. Besides loving all things quilty, I love to share my passion for decorating, cooking and enjoy spending time with our four-legged family members.

My Quilting

Everyone remembers when they first learned to quilt. My story starts in 2002 when, on a whim, I decided to take a “learn-to-quilt” class at a local senior center. Immediately I was hooked! I loved the whole process – from piecing to quilting! It was not until 2010 while shopping for a travel sewing machine for retreats that I discovered longarm quilting. I was immediately in love and, boy, did I fall hard! With my family’s support, I purchased my first longarm machine and set up shop in my basement. I practiced every chance I could! Raising a family, working three part-time jobs and used any free time for client quilts (sometimes staying up until 4:00 am!) Sure, most of those early days I felt like I was barely keeping my head above water, but I was determined to make my dream my career. It’s an honor to hold numerous national quilting awards I’ve earned over the years through this passion and dedication to quilting.

I’ve always believed in the Marc Anthony quote, “If you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life.”

My Pursuit of Happiness

The Quilted Pineapple… I wanted to create a place where quilters feel welcome, where they can send me their prized possessions and where I can be a source of inspiration. I feel so fortunate to quilt for a living, travel and teach others to machine quilt. Designing instructional videos and helpful tools to support other quilters has been incredibly rewarding. I’ve now added a second longarm that I’ve dedicated to edge-to-edge quilting to offer quilters a fast and affordable way to finish their quilts.

Quilting has become a family affair! Scott, my husband, is real-life CSI by day and a template/ruler maker, and shipping specialist by night. He is also my trusty assistant when we travel to shows and workshops. Our college-aged daughters love to help as well. And now I have a new studio in our home so I can even offer students private one-on-one workshops.

My Journey

I started out 10 years ago never imaging where this incredible journey would take me. I hope to provide a little inspiration and a lot of fun here. First things first, I encourage you to remember two things when quilting: practice and patience. If you are new quilter, please don’t forget to allow yourself some grace and kindness. We all started in exactly the same place.

Five Things My Quilts Will Never Tell You About Me:

  1. I do not like winter. My neighbors refer to me as “Punxsutawney Phil,” because there are only rare sightings of me between November and April.
  1. I have never met a donut I did not love. I love carbs. Unfortunately, they hate me.
  1. I love to read biographies and memoirs. My favorite, The Dalai Lama of Tibet. My least favorite, Steve Jobs. He was a genius, yet insufferable. It took me 3 attempts to finish his biography.
  1. Walking my dog ALWAYS makes me feel better.
  1. I am an Enneagram Type 1 personality through and through. If you’re curious, do a quick search for the “Enneagram Test.” There are plenty of free sources to find out what you are, too!

Please don’t hesitate to send me a note if you have any questions about my blog, my work or my products. I’m here for you.

Happy Quilting!
