I took a little blogging break.  No special reason.  Just busy like always!! πŸ™‚  I stay pretty active on Instagram if you ever feel you are missing out.  Also, after much peer pressure (lol) and feet dragging, you can now find me on Facebook.  Basically in 2 spots, as Linda Hrcka here and Linda Hrcka-The Quilted Pineapple page here.  I have also added all the social media icons to the right hand of my blog. πŸ™‚ So between all those places, if you cannot find me here, you’ll be able to track me down somewhere else.  Social Media is a full time job.

Lots to catch up on, but lets start with Another Year of Schnibbles hosted by Sherri and Sinta!!!  October’s quilt is actually a Little Bite quilt made out of 2.5″ mini charm packs called Candies from Moda.  Since I am still building my stash of mini quilts, I decided to make my version a mini version of the original.

Mine finished 13″ square.  It makes a wonderful table topper too.  I will eventually, I think hang it though.

Whit is by Carrie Nelson for Miss Rosie’s Quilt Co. available here.  I used Homestead Gatherings from Primitive Gatherings by Moda available from Primitive Gatherings. The background fabric is also a Primitive Gatherings fabric from a past collection, as well is the binding.

I could not be happier with how it turned out!!!  I love the colors and fabric.  Perfect for fall, but appropriate for all year.  Of course the pattern is genius like all Carrie’s patterns are.  No, I’m not too biased. πŸ™‚

I had fun modeling my little Whit all over the house.

I quilted it on my Juki sewing machine.  A simple cross hatch using monofilament thread.  Batting is leftover Dream Orient from Quilter’s Dream.  Love that stuff!!

Blocks are so tiny and cute!!!

Before quilting.  Love that black background!!!

My curious kitty Louie had to get in on the fun.  He’s usually not allowed in the room, especially when I’m taking photos, so he could not believe his good fortune!!!!  He was extremely fascinated with the camera in front of my face. πŸ™‚

He hopped right on the quilt where I was trying to take photos!!

He’s like “Mom??  Is that you back there??  Why is the camera hiding you??”  Let me touch that thing!!”  ROFL!!!

Make you stop by Sherri and Sinta’s for the parade of Whit quilts!!

I have seen a few of these on blogs, but I love that yours is smaller (no surprise there), and it looks scrumptious in the Homestead Gatherings fabrics. Just warm and wonderful! You may have convinced me that I need one of these. : )
Cross-hatching is such a great look on this!

Welcome back to blogging. Yet to check out Instagram. Yeap, social media is time consuming. I like the flying geese blocks with the black background fabric. Louie is too curious and cute. It was fun meeting you at the Grand Rapids Show.

Love, love, love your mini!! I have the same issues with curious a kittie, and yes I also have banned said cat from photo sessions. Having said that she can open the door so I keep a water spray bottle handy for such occasions!
Your work really inspire's me. Hope to meet you in housten this year!

Hey Linda! That little quilt is so wonderful. I love the fabrics you've chosen and it will be a great piece for autumn!!

I am sorry you had to give in to Facebook as it is very hard to keep up with social networking. It's why I don't! hahaha
I will always meet you here on your wonderfully awesome blog though. Hope all is well with you and your adorable family!

    Happy Autumn!

Love your little quilt, really beautiful design and fabrics.
My kitties are not allowed in my sewing room, they get into everything but they are always trying to sneak in.

Your mini quilt is cute, but when I got a look at your Louie — I forgot all about that quilt!! He is such a beautiful furr baby. His markings are outstanding. I'm glad he got to come into the room where the camera was holding mom. Now I will be looking to catch other glimpses of him.

What a great mini version of Whit! I love how the blocks just float on the background. And Louie is utterly adorable!

How do you decide how far apart to quilt your grid lines? It looks great but I always get stuck thinking I must follow a seam line.
