Our dog Sarge was skunked last night by the Notorious Neighborhood Skunk!
Many of our neighbors’ dogs have fallen victim recently. Sarge was one of the last dogs standing. I lovingly refer to Sarge as Mr. Handsome. Now, he is Mr. Smelly! Our house smells beyond a skunk smell. It almost smells like burnt rubber. Appetizing, I know. It’s just AWFUL! We called our vet and neighbor this morning and they recommended a paste consisting of liquid dish soap, baking soda and peroxide. We leave it on Sarge for 5 minutes and rinse. The problem is he was sprayed right in the face and in his ear! We will see if it helps. When my in-law’s dog was skunked, their vet told them the only thing tomato juice was good for was vodka! If anyone out there knows of a miracle solution, please let me know.
