Just a quick post.  Today Kristin (my little sis) graduates from grad school as a Physician’s Assistant from Western Michigan University!!!!  We are so excited and proud!!!  All her hard work and dedication has paid off!  Lots to celebrate today!  I thought I would give you a just a peek of her grad quilt.  No, it is not the one that I started for her undergrad.  She will get the one some day. πŸ™‚ I will post photos of the whole quilt after I give it to her.  She made a very small, sweet request regarding her quilt.  Feathers.  And that is exactly what she got!! πŸ™‚

First time I have quilted an allover heirloom type feather.  LOVE.  The back is probably my favorite.  Pretty sure it could be a reversible quilt!

I love how the feather path makes the feathers look like they are circling the flower print.  Fabric is all Charlevoix from Minick and Simpson for Moda.

Lots more photos to follow. πŸ™‚

Thank you for all the kind birthday wishes for Patti.  She enjoyed reading every single one!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Absolutely gorgeous feather! I'm curious about the backing–was it a small quilt, a wide backing, or, if you had to piece it, did you match the seam exactly? Asked by a person who is always trying to bump up her skill set, and loves to learn from the masters!
