Well after basically wringing my hands most of the day about the piano keys border, I finally decided to just go for it and I got two sides on last night! I might have been able to get the other two on, but our girls had parent/teacher conferences last night. I am pleasantly surprised at how straight the borders turned out. A little birdie named Candace gave me some very good hints and advice on how to keep them from getting wonky. I hope to get the other two sides on today between baking, cooking and preparing for tomorrow. Plus, I want to get this top done and off the floor before Scooter comes home. Otherwise, I’ll be looking at quilt salad tomorrow morning!
The piano key border really makes this quilt stand out. I love it. I don’t know what I was so nervous about!
The strangest thing happened to me Monday after I worked at the quilt shop. Lynn from Sew ‘n Wild Oaks Quilting Blog said this would happen. She told me the problem with working at a quilt shop was that fabric and was always following her home and sure enough it happened to me on Monday! It’s quite the phenomenon! Look what followed me home…
It’s a project to make the cutest make-up/travel bags EVER! Nicole from Sister’s Choice Quilts has been making them and inspired me to get the project to do with my daughters. These bags make the nicest gifts. Nicole posted a great tutorial on how to attach the zippers. Thank goodness too because I’ve never sewn zipper in before!
Now on to some Turkey Day Giveaway prizes! Yes, I said prizes… plural. I was feeling so happy and thankful last night after parent/teacher conferences that I decided I needed to give two giveaways! I went to a random number generator last night to select the winners.
The first prize of Paganini and 2 charm packs of Wild Rose went to…
Lucky number 10… Lori of Humble Quilts! Lori’s comment… “Really, I have os many htings to be thankful for. Right now though I’m thnakful for my hubby’s love and support in all I do.” The funny thing is Lori sent me an email talking about how she really does know how to spell and she’s posted about it on her blog. LOL! Congratulations Lori!
The second prize I am giving is a pattern that I just love. It is on my dream to-do list of quilts.
It’s a design by Edyta Sitar. I saw this quilt in person at Lolly’s quilt shop of Shipshewanna IN and it’s stunning! Took my breath away. I know someone will love it just as I do. By the way, Lolly’s is an amazing quilt shop!! If you are ever in the area, it’s a must stop and check it out kind of place! The winner is…
Lucky number 44…Deb (no blog)! Deb’s comment… “I’m thankful for the opportunity to spend time with family and friends over the holiday weekend, and the fact that we have our first granddaughter to spend time with this year. It’s amazing!” Congratulations Deb! Lori and Deb please email me your addresses so I can send you your Turkey Day Giveaway prize!
