It’s done! My last project for 2010 is my December Le Petite – “Prairie Point Christmas” by Cara Wilson.
I don’t know why, but I had troubles trying to decide what I wanted to do for the borders. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go exactly how the pattern had the borders. I decided to do something a little different than the pattern. After MUCH auditioning last night, this is what I decided on. I love it. I’m very happy with how this project looks! I have temporarily added a little prim star button on the top to see how I like it. What do you think? I’m going to see if it grows on me and if it does, I’ll attach it after I quilt it. Yippee, I have another project waiting to be quilted on my A-1!! I’m so excited. I’m counting down the days until next Wednesday when Jamie Wallen is coming over to set everything up!!
Scott will be installing some cabinetry in my new quilt studio. He went and picked them up yesterday.
Unfortunately for Scott this meant more heavy things to carry, but at least he could go down the stairs this time and not through the window! My studio only has one small window, so I didn’t want to go with dark cabinetry. I chose a solid, natural maple with a Shaker panel door. The cabinets are Amish made in Indiana. The were sooooo affordable. I didn’t want anything fancy, but after we priced stock cabinets at Lowe’s, these were actually a better deal and better made!
I love them! Looks like Sarge and Scooter do too! Scooter couldn’t believe his good fortune yesterday. There were big boxes and long pieces of tape for him to play with. A kitty playground!
It will be a quiet holiday for us this year. My dad is coming over tonight and we just plan on staying in, playing some games and eating yummy food. I wanted thank all of you for making the last part of 2010 such a special one for me! I feel so fortunate to have “met” such wonderful new friends. Reading blogs has changed my morning routine for the better. I can’t imagine my morning coffee without all of you! I would like to wish everyone
Yours is the second completed tree I have seen and it is a tempting project. Was it easy to do?

What a fun project, Linda! It's great to have more things ready for your A-1! Love the cabinets, too! You may never want to come out of your studio – lol! I think Sarge looks like he is saying, "well, OK, you can unload these as long as you play with me, too!" Have fun and Happy New Year!

Your tree turned out so cute. I think the star looks cute. I was thinking this could make a cute advent calendar. You could have ornaments that get attached to the prairie points each day. Nice piecing. Looks good and square! 🙂

I love your tree! I found some cute gingerbread boy buttons that I also added. I will be curious to see how you quilt this. I started quilting down the prairie points but didn't like it at all so ripped out and just went under them. It was a fun project.

I LOVE the tree wall hanging. The border is perfect because it does not distract from the tree and allows it to pop!
