Last weekend went by so fast! I feel like I just wrote Friday’s post. Saturday’s Friendship strip exchange and sit ‘n sew at the shop was so much fun! Everyone was cutting and exchanging strips for different projects from Edyta. I did manage to get some stripping done myself!! LOL!
These are some of the strip sets I will be cutting my farmhouse blocks out of. Love the fabric! Most of the fabric is from the kit I purchased from Edyta, but I did end up swapping out a few strips for ones from the exchange.
Pat, my co-host holding up one of her farmhouse blocks. She cut her strips a little wider than I did. I think I’m going to put a variety of sizes in my strip sets. Adds to the fun!
This is the Sizzix fabric cutter we use at the shop. Makes cutting strips a dream! It is so fast, easy and fun!
Look at ALL the strips I came home with! I can’t wait until next month when we exchange more. There are a few projects in Edyta’s book that I am thinking of making with all my strips. I’d love to make them all, but sigh not enough time.
I wanted to thank everyone for all the wonderful birthday wishes to the girls. They enjoyed each one of them! They had a wonderful time this weekend. Everyone aka Scott and myself survived! Yesterday we had grandparents over and my sister came home for the weekend. We had one little surprise left for the girls yesterday. We were all hiding cans of Silly String so as soon we sang “Happy Birthday” and they blew out their candles, we sprayed it all over them!! It was so funny! They SO were not expecting it! They were covered! They looked like Silly String sculptures! Scott videotaped the whole thing and we watched it several times last night. Laughing more each time!
Glasses update…I will be picking them up Thursday! Yippee!! I will be getting my eyes dilated as well. Should be another fun appointment.
I’m off to the bakery to pick up THREE DOZEN strawberry jelly doughnuts for the girls’ class today! I love doughnuts. I’ve never met one that I didn’t like. The girls are just like me! Of course, all the doughnuts aren’t for the class…I had to get a few for home too!
What a fun exchange!!
I am allergic to donuts. 🙁 They always leave me puffy and it takes weeks of running to relieve it. LOL
Looks like a fun group of ladies and great way to spend the day.
A fun, fun week end. 🙂
What a great time at the shop you have had…Its great that you all had a fun time at the Birthdays's sounds like a heap of fun.l I love all the strips – I have a set of bali batik strips, that I hve NO idea what to do with…you may give me some ideas yet 🙂
Oh that looks like you had so much fun with your sewing buddies.
I too have the Big Shot Pro and love it. I've had mine for scrapbooking but then began using it for strips for quilting. Nice tool to have if you have the room for it!
So glad your girls had a nice birthday too. Those are special 🙂
OOO, sewing with your friends sure did look fun and what fabulous strips you got.
Now this must be real fun!
And there is nothing better than an American Doughnut! Wish I could join you (o:
Looks like it was a fun day at the shop. Love the quilt i can see behind the cutter. Glad nto hear the girls had a great time for their birthday. Had to laugh at your doughnut comment. 🙂 Hugs, Jeanette
Looks like you got more done after I left the shop! Your strips are going to make great houses. Lloyd just told me that there's a box on the front step. I am thinking it's my kit! 🙂 Can't wait to start. I may have to make myself finish this one first. (Tree of Life) It was good to see you Sat! Hope all is well at the Pineapple household.
Looks like you guys had a great time. Love your fabric strips. We are exchanging strips Wednesday night at Knotty Girls to make one of Edyta's projects. Love the pix of Stephanie. Isn't her tree of life great!
Sounds like you had a fun weekend….lots of quilting and family fun! I'm glad your girls had a fun birthday…….the silly string scene (say that five times fast) cracked me up 🙂
Those strips look gorgeous, love those fabrics – how fun that you got to visit with Stephanie! Love that Tree quilt.
I miss Silly String, I haven't seen it in years. So glad the girls had fun and everyone survived. Enjoy a donut for me!
Oh my sounds like so much fun. Your quilt is going to be fantastic.
I wish I could have gotten my paws on a doughnut….:) miss you already!
I love sewing with friends; glad you had a great time.
What a fantastic time you had…3 dozen strawberry jelly donuts…I'm on my way!
That looks like so much fun! I love that the quilt shop has the sizzix cutter. What service!!
Your strip sets are beautiful. Edyta came to our show and tell at our retreat in Shipshewana last fall and brought several of her quilts to show including the farmhouse quilt from the cover. I love seeing how she uses fabrics in her quilts. Looks like you had a fun time working together.
