Just returned home from a much needed vacation.  Our family vacation couldn’t have come at a better time.  It was a wonderful, relaxing time with the family.  More often than not, I feel like I need a vacation from my vacation because I’m so exhausted when I get home.  Do you know what I mean?  Not this time.  I made sure to relax and let my body do some much needed healing.

With views like this every morning, you can’t help but feel relaxed.  I even worked on some hand projects that I never would have had time to work on at home.  I will post about our vacation later because of course I hit some quilt shops while gone too.  🙂  I have so much to catch up on, but first I want to share the rest of Judy’s quilt.  Naturally, I forgot to take a pre-quilt photo.  I’ll have to remember next time because I’m actually going to be quilting this quilt again, but for a different client.

Sorry these photos are upside down.  Oops.  You get the idea.

The back.

I always love to see how pretty the quilting looks on the back too.  I used Hobbs 80/20 batting.  The majority of the thread was a pretty yellow from So Fine, but there is a little Isacord mixed in too.  My two favorite threads!!  I really had a lot of fun with quilting this.  It makes me smile even more now because Judy was so happy with it.

Tonight we have 5th Grade orientation for the girls.  Hard to believe the girls are going into 5th Grade!  I think they are more ready than I am for them to go back to school.  I took them school shopping right before we went on vacation.  Trust me, I earned every second of that vacation based on that alone.

Thanks again everyone for all the well wishes.  I think they worked!

That photo looks like the Smoky Mountains. We went to NC last fall and stayed in the mountains, and it was a relaxing time. Looking forward to more photos. Your quilting is gorgeous; love that quilt.

Yes, I know what you mean, when we use to tour France on the motorbike, by the time I had been sat on the back of that bike for thousands of miles I needed another holiday!! Glad you enjoyed yours, the rest will have done you good, now don't go and undo it all by working too hard! xx

Glad you are back and feeling better. Yes, I almost always need a vacation after my vacations. So, I know exactly what you mean. Love your quilting on that quilt. I have really missed you. Let's get together soon. I'm having a hard enough time with E being in second grade. I can't believe how big she's getting. I think I'll be horrified by 5th grade! LOL. Have a good one. Welcome back!
