Thank you for all the well wishes!!!  I did return to the doctor on Monday.  Seems I have a festering kidney infection…still.  Doc put me on a TWO week dose of Cipro.  He wasn’t playing around!  If that doesn’t clear it up, I’m in trouble.  I’ll need to go back to the doc in a few weeks for a recheck.  I think I’m finally starting to feel some relief.  I’m still kind of tired, probably because I haven’t been resting like I should.

I haven’t posted anything quilty in a while.  I’ll give you a peek at a darling quilt I quilted for my client, Judy, before I got sick.  It’s a birthday gift for her granddaughter.  The quilt is called “Lil Miss Cutie Patootie Springtime” by Desiree.  Fabric line is by Red Rooster.  Oh and is it ever cute!!!

Judy asked for basically an allover, but said I could do whatever I wanted.  I knew the quilt was going to be used by her granddaughter, so I didn’t think an overly custom job was necessary.  However, Judy did a beautiful job hand appliqueing the flowers, leaves and carrots on this quilt that I couldn’t bear just going over the whole quilt with an allover pattern.  So, I just added some custom touches to the applique.  I wanted to keep the quilting whimsy like the quilt.

Carrots were my favorite!  I just added some little details to compliment the applique.

Judy loved the swirls I added here and there in the quilting.  She thought it reminded her of bees buzzing around the flowers.  She called me yesterday morning just to tell me again how much she loved her quilt!  Made my whole day.  I was bit mopey because doc gave me strict instructions to NOT quilt.  No extended periods of standing for at least 3 days, which I kind of  listened too. ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m thinking there might be another little quilter in my house.  Above is my white board that I always keep handy by my machine, so I can doodle a design if I need to.  BUT these are not my doodles, they’re Alyssa’s!!!!  It just melted my heart to find this laying on the floor next to my machine.  I knew she was on the floor drawing, I just didn’t realize she was doodling quilt designs.  So sweet.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

I'm so sorry to hear that you are still ailing! I know how hard it is for you to stay off your feet. Please take care of yourself.

This is a cute quilt. I love those carrots too! Great job as always.

You should encourage Alyssa's creative side. Maybe with a few simple sewing projects like pillows or a dog blanket for Sarge.

I do hope the latest medication does the trick for you.

I love how you quilted that quilt and to have your daughter doodling quilting designs is wonderful. From the look of it she's going to be as talented as her mother with a quilting machine.
