I barely made it! I was really burning the midnight oil last night to get my project for Le Petite, “Butter Churn” done! The pattern is a This & That pattern by Sherri K. Falls. It was a ton of fun to do!
I changed the outer border from the original design. The pattern called for a border of half square triangles all around the quilt. I liked the look of framing the center design, so that’s what I did! I love how it turned out! It’s a small project. It finished 23.5″ square. I’m going to use it for a small wall hanging rather than a table topper. I used several fabric collections. The majority is Clermont Farms by Minick & Simpson. I also used some Rural Jardin and Maison de Garance both by French General. The blue border is from my stash. By the way, I have the tiniest fabric stash of any quilter. The fact that I could use something from it is a miracle! I’ll share it with you some time, but I’ll prepare you first. I don’t want to send you all into shock! I’m the kind of quilter that needs to have a pattern in mind before I can buy fabric. BUT that’s a conversation for another post…
Make sure you stop by Sherri’s A Quiting Life or Sinta’s Pink Pincushion to see the Le Petite Parade. I’ve seen a few of the quilts on the blogs and they are gorgeous!
Wow, I really like how that turned out. Again, the eye is moving over all the different designs that the fabric create.
What a sweet quilt!! I like the border too as it doesn't distract from the center.
OH, I LOVE it! Love your border decision. 🙂
Oh Linda I just LOVE it! Your border is perfect!
It looks wonderful! You did a great job on it! :0)
I would say you did a beautiful job, using your stash.
Debbie
What a nice little quilt! The colour choice is just what I like! It would look really good in my hallway together with my dark brown chest of drawers. I think I will make this myself, 'bookmarking for later'
My favorite block…churn dash. I love it!
What a great quilt. I love that traditional block. I made a table topper years ago using it in the quilt.
gorgeous. I love the churn dash block. One of my favourites. The border is very nice.
Lookin' good Sis!!! You are so talented!!
After seeing your project with the plain border and comparing it to the hst borders on some of the others, I think I prefer yours. The butter churn blocks stand out more, great call on your part! I have this pattern and hope to get to it someday! Great job!
Well I think your quilt is gorgeous; I just love your work!
I love the fabrics you used.
Your Butter Churn turned out so beautiful! I love your color combination!
I love Butter Churn, Linda! I've been wanting to see how Clermont Farms looks sewn up – now I must have some!
Cheers!
Your Butter Churn turned out fabulous, Linda! I love the border you chose for it – it frames the center perfectly.
Now you have really gotten me curious about your stash… Look forward to the revealing post ;o)
