Hello October 1st! Ahhh, Fall my favorite time of year! And October is one of my favorite months. Lots of great things in October. Birthday, anniversary and speaking of anniversary…THIS month marks 10 years ago I started this blog. Little did I know then where it would help take me. 🙂

I am hoping this month to catch you all up on things going on at The QP. I hope to give this space some much needed love and sprucing up. But I am going to kick things off with a new Moda sew-a-long called Stitch Pink.  (Yes, I am also still working on my Moda Blockheads quilt, but just a little behind on posting.) Copied from the Moda FaceBook page:

“Stitch Pink 2020 starts next Thursday, October 1. Breast cancer is serious stuff, and most of us know at least one person, one family, who has faced this challenge. To promote awareness, be there for each other, and support research, we’re Stitching Pink.

We’re sharing thirty blocks for a Sampler quilt, one block each day in October on Moda’s The Cutting Table blog.

A portion of Moda’s proceeds from the Stitch Pink Grunge Assortment will be donated to the National Breast Cancer Organization. “

All Details here

So each day I will also be sharing along for inspiration on Social Media via Instagram or my Facebook page, which you’ll find links on my blog or at the bottom of this post.

Block one, Underdog.

The blocks are so much fun! I used the new line from Lisa Bongean – Redwork Gatherings by Primitive Gatherings for Moda Available here

I used a Fat Quarter bundle in addition to some yardage of 3 different backgrounds. I love the fabric and wanted backing as well so I added about 5 yards each.

I love Red quilts so much!

As you can tell. 🙂 So this is right in my wheelhouse. I hope you all when join along as well.

If red or pink are not your thing…Not to worry! Pick whatever your heart desires. Several other quilters will be sharing their blocks on social media as well. I will be having giveaways throughout the month. So be sure to follow me on:

I was wondering…exactly what amount of fabric did you get to do this quilt. I saw where you said I used a Fat Quarter bundle in addition to some yardage of 3 different backgrounds. I love the fabric and wanted backing as well so I added about 5 yards each. I am not sure what you meant. I am following your colors. I want to purchase the right amount so I don't run out!!

The photo with the fat quarter bundle has three fabrics pictured underneath. That’s what I bought extra of. *** For background, you will need 3-3/4 to 4 yards, and approx. 6 yards or 24 Fat Quarters for the prints-colors that is per the directions in the Moda link. Hope that helps.

I swore no more fabric, but the more I look at these posts the more I may have to join in on this.
