Swoon. Love it. This is my second version of Swoon I have had the pleasure to quilt. The first one being Thelma’s “Baby Swoon.” This version of Swoon was made by my very dear friend Patti for her niece’s wedding. What an amazing gift to receive!! Absolutely beautiful!

Funny. The first version of Swoon I quilted was a smaller version of the pattern, this one is much bigger! LOL! Patti kept the block size the same, but added an additional 3 blocks. Apparently, the groom is a very tall young man! I could hardly get the quilt in the photo. I was standing on a counter stool to take the pic! Patti did an amazing job on the piecing!!!

Patti requested an allover type quilting, but left the design up to me. I wanted to keep the quilting very flowing, kind of romantic. A swirly feather. Even though this is an allover type design, it is NOT, however an edge to edge pattern. All freehand. I was constantly rolling the quilt back and forth on my machine, so I could really intertwine the design.

It took much longer to quilt, but well worth the effort!! I challenged Patti to find my traveling path across the quilt!! 🙂 The varying size and shape of the feather swirls added so much movement to the quilt. Love.

The fabric is Ruby by Bonnie and Camille for Moda. The pattern is Swoon by Camille Roskelly. Available here.

I used a white Glide Thread on the top and So Fine in the bobbin. The Glide really added another beautiful element to the quilt. The batting is Bleached White Dream Cotton in the Select weight. The back was just as beautiful.

The Swoon pattern is such a sweet one and this is a perfect wedding gift for the young couple. Gorgeous fabrics and the quilting is perfect!
What a gorgeous quilt! I love your all-over pattern – such a wonderful idea to intertwine the design!!
The quilt is beautiful and your quilting superb!
Beautiful quilt and beautiful quilting, the pattern really sets off the design.
The quilter usually gets credit, I know at the shows they have to list who quilted it, it is part of the quilt and just as beautiful.
Debbie

Oh so beautiful… your quilting is amazing!
That's the perfect quilting for a swoon. Beautiful!
Beautiful work!!! I have that pattern in my stash–maybe someday. I always credit my quilters. They are the person who brings my quilts to life.
The quilter should always be credited! It's lovely and I think the all over swirly design is perfect. I have seen antique quilts in several of my books using this old block. Obviously quite popular in it's makeover too.
This is the kind of quilt that deserves a good wash, dry and crinkle to be used and loved! Your design is perfect for that. I'm glad you mentioned Glide on top and Sew Fine in bottom….I've got some Glide to try but just hadn't yet….I love Sew Fine so much….thanks for the tip!
I recently got this pattern, Linda. Now after seeing what Patti and you have done with it, I can't wait to get started. I was going to downsize the blocks, but now don't think I will!
Cheers!
I love this pattern…it looks good in anything! Your quilting enhances it beautifully!
So very pretty!
Love this quilt!! You and Patti created a masterpiece. I love the Swoon pattern and the Ruby fabric. The label is wonderful and you deserve the credit for the gorgeous quilting.
Hugs,
Donna
Gorgeous! I'm going to be quilting my Swoon soon, I hope. It is currently hanging at my LQS as a class sample. It should come down soon.
What a beautiful quilt, and your quilting just adds icing to the cake. The couple will be thrilled to get this quilt.
Love how you quilted it; so light and airy. Just can't get enough Swoon!
Love the quilting! You did a great job on it. Patti does an amazing job with her piecing and color selections. Way to go, Patti!
Sometimes it takes a collaboration of talents to produce a truely special quilt. Patti created a beautiful quilt and the personalized quilting you thoughtfully contributed resulted in a totally amazing gift that will be treasured for a lifetime. You clearly have a gift for quilting. I am amazed at the creative way you manage to put some of yourself into each quilt that you complete. The best thing about having a gift is that you can share it with a friend.
Linda, this turned out specatular. Love how you quilted it. I finished quilting my Swoon this week too. Just need to sew the binding down. Love your freehand feathers. So very pretty.
Wow, you are so talented! How I wish I could come and have some lessons from you! For now I will just click on the photos and drool 🙂 xxx
Linda, you didn't know this but you posted this on my neice's birthday. 🙂 They are on their honeymoon now and I will tell them about this post once they are back home. Thank You to everyone for their kind comments. It has been really fun to watch Linda's amaizing talent grow with each quilt. Looking forward to the day when I actually own a quilt that has been quilted by Linda. lol
What a pretty quilt and wonderful quilting!
Every quilter that makes a label should credit the quilter- I always do!!
Spectacular! As usual! I love that quilting pattern and how you made it intertwine so much. It's wonderful that you were included on tne label. The quilting really makes quilts sing 🙂 Maybe someday I'll get to make a Swoon quilt……another to add to the list of quilts to make! How many times can I use the word quilt in one comment? LOL!!
This quilt turned out awesome. I just love that swirly feather. I will have to try that out sometime!
wow, so envious of your amazing quilting! I love your patterns and swirls that you add, it really ups the quilt by a lot! so beautiful… Inspiring me to machine quilt on my little machine. It really does add a new dimension. Your swoon quilt is beautiful! I have been eyeing this pattern for a while now…
