I believe I had to dust off my blog before I could write this post it has been so long since I have posted.  First, THANK YOU a million times and then some for all the kind words regarding Paducah.  There are not of words in the English language describe my gratitude or how they made me feel.

Once again I have so much I want to share with you all, but (sigh) I would be writing until Christmas.  It is finally warmed up and actually feels like spring, although it is June.  LOL.  The weather has been delightful.  Perfect for planting and gardening.  I thought I would share a pretty, spring-ish project I made months ago evident by some Easter decor in my pics. πŸ™‚ But this project is too sweet and pretty not to share.

Tootsie Pops table runner.  Pattern is from Fig Tree & Co.

Pattern makes a large table runner, around 21″ x 51″.  I used two Moda Candy charms and yardage.

Front Porch by Jan Patek for Moda and yardage I picked up at my local quilt shop, Quilt Shop at the Marshall House.

Pattern went together easily!!!

Perfect for spring decorating.  Although, the pattern would be fabulous in other themes.  Red, white and blue for a little patriotic flair would be gorgeous.  Right JoAnne?? πŸ™‚

Putting cut flowers in Ball or Mason jars turned out to be a super cute idea!!  I am sure it was Pinterest inspired.  I love Daffodils!  Some I cut from my yard but a large bouquet was given to me by a dear old friend, my Science teacher (physics and chemistry) from high school.  I will probably never receive another flower if he knew I called him “old”!  lol

I opted to quilt a quick and easy allover freehand feather.  My favorite!!  Threads are So Fine by Superior.  Batting is a hodge podge of leftovers of a variety of Quilters Dream.

I like to see how close I can get to the quilt top for photos. πŸ™‚

The backing was leftover backing from the quilt I made my sister, Kristin here.  She recognized it right away.  Wasn’t a perfect match color wise, but it was ready to go without piecing and I love using up leftover fabric!!!  Still made a beautiful backing!
So if you look closely you will see I made a little boo-boo.  I have one of my HSTs turned the wrong way.  He’s flying off in another direction.  I noticed it right away, opted to leave it.  Yes, I DID!!!  I know hard to believe, but I actually liked it.  Gives it character. πŸ™‚
I was just talking to LB on the phone and we were saying something like “yeah when we are not so busy…”  Then we both laughed out loud!!!!  I mean really??  There is always something going on!!! lol  Between family, work and life in general, I have stayed more than busy.  Not a dull moment.  Life is good!!!!!  The girls have one more week of school due to all the time they had off in the winter months.  They had their End of the Year Dance last month.
I cannot believe how they are growing so fast right before my very eyes.  I get a little ache in my heart every time I think about it. Their dance was the same weekend as Pittsburgh Spring Market.  I did not attend.  Being home to help them get ready…there was no other place I would rather be. πŸ™‚

The runner is very sweet–and it looks lovely with your feathers all over it. I love that you left the one HST wonky. I just recently unpicked a piece to correct an errant HST, only to discover a twisted 4 patch when I had it half quilted. Needless to say, I left it.
The girls are beautiful, and lucky to have a Mom with her priorities in the right place. : )

You're exactly right about attending dance concert. There'll always be another quilt market and our kids will never be the same age again.
