Last weekend went by so fast.  I feel like I woke up this morning and it should have been Friday still.  Saturday I worked at the quilt shop.  We were super busy, which is such a good thing!  I just love that job!!  I was pretty tired when I got home though.  Plus, I ended up with a migraine that I still have.  I seem to be getting them more and more lately.  I am making an appointment at my doctor’s office.  Over the counter meds are not providing much relief.  Scott thinks I need to have my eyes checked.  That may be the problem. Any of you migraine sufferers out there know how debilitating they can be!  Needless to say I was not up for loading a new muslin practice quilt on my machine Saturday night.  I did, however get my first practice quilt unloaded.

Looks like Sarge may finally get a quilt of his own!

My A-1 and I are still getting to know one another.  Due to having a migraine, practicing wasn’t really an option Saturday night, I decided to become better acquainted with this part of the A-1…

Does anyone know what this little device is???  It looks like it came straight out of Thomas Edison’s invention test room.  LOL!  This is the bobbin winder for the A-1.  I sat Saturday night winding bobbins.  It’s was a little tricky at first, but then they were winding up perfectly.  I guess you can never have enough bobbins ready for quilting!

Saturday I also received a little package in the mail.  I won a giveaway over on Sew Cindy.  It was the cutest little giveaway prize!!

It’s a Moda Bake Shop kit with two mini honey buns and the recipe to make two cute little bags.  Elaina and Alyssa thought it was a prize for them.  They thought the bags were perfect for them!  Looks like I know two little girls that will be getting new bags soon.  Cindy has been a great new friend in blogland!  I love her blog and getting to know her.  Cindy has 3 beautiful Weimaraners!!  That right there tells me what an amazing and patient person she is!!  Thanks so much, Cindy!

Sunday we spent the day with some friends at their house.  When we got home Sunday night, I really wanted to get some practice time in. With a migraine still with me, I did finally get a new practice piece of muslin on the machine.  It took me 2 HOURS!!  I know it’ll be little faster next time.  My A-1 does have a bit of a hiccup that needs to be fixed though.  When Jamie was here last week, we noticed the stitches weren’t always even.  Jamie fixed it temporarily, but it started doing it again Sunday night.  A-1 is sending a replacement piece.  I spoke with Jamie this morning and he says to continue to practice, but my stitches just won’t look even until I replace the part.  I’m just sooooo relieved it’s an easy fix.  I’m a total worry wart, so I thought about it all night!  Now I’m off to practice worry free!

I feel for you on the headache part. I have them so bad that it just wipes the life out of me and people that are lucky enough to never get them do not understand the pain they cause, hope you are on the road of recovery soon. HUGS MARY

Oooh, I used to get migraines and know how miserable you must feel with them. I used to get them the day after something stressful happened. And the stressful thing could be a good thing, like getting a new A-1….Hope you are better by now and can get back to quilting!

I started suffering with migraines a couple of years ago so I definitely know how you felt. Ugh!

Don't push yourself so hard – relax, BREATHE and try hard to enjoy this part of your new journey.

  • Brandie says:

Oh so sorry to hear about your migraines. Nothing is worse, I'd willingly give birth rather than have a migraine. Unfortunately, as we get older, they seem to come on more. Hormones?

  • QuiltSue says:

Hmm, I have to wonder if the migraine is partly due to forgetting to BREATHE? Now, listen to Mama and remember that's important! Seriously, there must be nothing more frustrating than wanting to play but having a migraine so you can't. I do hope today has been better?

Migraines are so awful. The word is even ugly. Take care and hopefully you can get some relief soon.

I never got headaches and then got migraines, for me it was food, so once I changed my diet, I was fine. You can keep a food journal to see if headaches come when you eat certain things. Try cutting out cheese and chocolate and see what happens.

That practice piece looks great! I am still really green with envy over here at the playing, not so much with the headache. I hope you feel better quick.

I have had migraines too and I believe mine were stress related. Yours might be too with all that is going on at your house. Maybe you are feeling a bit overwhelmed. Try to relax and get better. Hugs.

  • Joanne says:

The practice piece is great!! I am glad that the problem with you A-1 is an easy fix – hopefully it will be the same for your migraines – good luck with that.♥
