We did end up getting a bit of a winter storm very early yesterday morning. Lot of ice! Jamie called me early yesterday and I told him to stay home and come today instead. I was too worried about him driving. I’m home today until dance time anyways. The girls ended up having school canceled as well. We had a very relaxing day together. Jamie told me that I could still practice on my A-1, but not with the stitch regulator on. I felt I needed a day off from practicing on the machine and chose to spend some time in my sewing room working on Elaina’s Blissful “Toulouse.” Lot of piecing there!! I did finish all the rail fence blocks. I’m almost done with the little 9 patch blocks. Whew! I’m enjoying it, but my next quilt project will not have a gazillion 1.5″ squares in it!!
Speaking of wooly Wednesday…I won a giveaway from Debbie over at Woolensails. Debbie designs her own patterns for the most beautiful rug hooking, punch needle and penny rug projects. I won two of her e-patterns! I picked the ones I liked from her Etsy store. Actually, she sent one to me and one to my friend Patti. I’ve always wanted to learn rug hooking, so now Patti and I will have to take a class together!
I will be working on my wool version of “Hop To It” tonight while the girls are at dance. I’ll be starting a new block tonight. I just finished this one.

I love each block more than the next it seems! Here is a recap of the blocks so far…

I don’t have a designated design wall…yet. π Alyssa is actually helping hold this up from behind! I don’t know, the bunny might be my favorite so far. This has been such a fun and relaxing project. I need to put myself into overdrive, though. The first weekend in February I am going on a retreat and I want all my blocks done by then so I can work on the sashing and borders while I’m there. Meaning, I want it all put together and ready for quilting by the time I leave the retreat. That’s my goal for right now. It may change a bit, though! π
I met a customer, Karen, at the shop Monday that had heard about my blog through a friend and wanted the name so she could visit it. How nice! Anyways, she too is working on “Hop To It” but in batiks. Her batiks were gorgeous. I was pleasantly surprised when I checked my email Monday night to find that Karen had sent me a very nice email. She also included a photo of her version.

It’s just beautiful! She just has the borders left to attach. I hope that I’ll see her again at the shop soon!
Hopefully, today my A-1 will be purring like a kitten again.
I just love your Hop To It! Love the back ground.
We are suppose to get ice, and pray we don't. My husband's only sister died in her sleep yesterday, and we have lots of people coming into town.
Bet your girls enjoyed their day off from school! Mine sure would have.
I was working on my various projects last night, and I counted 5 projects in the works. So adding a rug hooking project will just add to the fun. Can't wait. Looking forward to finishing up my HOP on our retreat weekend. I need to start fiishing stuff, all in due time. I LOVE Karen's HOP, love the colors.
Lovely blocks – I too like the bunny. Keep warm – we are having heat here…- not too bad with the air-con on. I have been busy too. I always look forward to your posts π
Your Hop To It is delightful – I'm super partial to the bunny block. teehee!!!
Enjoy your day.
That quilt is lovely and in wool it is even more beautiful!
I love your Hop To It! It is coming along nicely. Retreat??? YAY for you!! I have always wanted to do a retreat but they are really expensive here and I can't see paying that much. I need to go visit my cousin, the retreats there are so reasonable. I need to schedule a retreat to not leave my sewing room for the weekend. LOL!
Very beautiful top !
Your blocks are beautiful. I love working with wool.
Debbie
Hop to It is such a nice pattern – it looks great in wool and batiks.β₯
Hop To It is really coming alive, Linda! Enjoy your relaxing day!
Cheers!
congrats on your win from Debbie. I read her blog too. She does some very pretty things.
All your blocks look great. I have not seen them all so it is nice to see what you have done. Yes, the bunny is one of my favorites too.
OOO, Karen's sure is pretty too. I hope to have my first block up tomorrow.
Congrats on your win! I want to learn rug hooking SOOOOO bad. Is the class on-line??? Maybe I'll sign up and do it with you guys.
Your blocks are looking great. Love it.
Hope Jamie got out there today!
Congratulations on your win! A second time! How wonderful. I love your Hop To It. Glad you are taking a day off from A-1. Sometimes things can get too intense. Enjoy the lovely weather we are having today. I hear more is coming tomorrow! Ugh!
I love your wool blocks. Gorgeous. I think the bunny is my favourite too. :). Hope you get the problem with the A-1 sorted soon. Love seeing your progress when you post about your quilting. Hugs,
I love your blocks! I hope you can keep on track, so you can work on it at the retreat. I know how it is to be on a tight schedule π I'm in the parking lot at the soccer field, reading blogs while I wait for my son's 3v3 games to finish. It's sometimes hard to plan my quilting around kids activities π
Wow. I'm blown away Linda – I just saw the episode on The Quilt Show with Edyta Sitar and this quilt – I love your version and I love Karen's version too! That is a beautiful quilt.
Congrats on a GREAT win!
Your blocks are just beautiful. Carrie sent me here from her blog. She was able to get hers up today and it's gorgeous too.
I do love that bunny!
Beautiful blocks, Linda! I love the softness you chose for your colors. Somehow I can feel the bunny while looking at it.
Congrats with your win (o:
And what an adventure for your children not to have school because of the snow (o: I loved that as a kid.
