Jersey Girl does not seem very fitting for the my version of Carrie Nelson’s Scnibbles pattern (available here) does it?
Not so girly since I used Snowman Gatherings. I am thinking of a new name for mine. ๐ I was planning on making my version super scrappy, but noticed I had a single charm pack of Snowman Gatherings in my stash and inspired by the arctic conditions, I went with this. ๐ Perfect! I only had one charm pack, so I made a 4 block version of the quilt. You normally need about two charm packs or the equivalent for Schnibbles, but Carrie’s patterns can easily be adapted.
I again opted for some outdoor shots. Only seemed right for this quilt.
You can see the evidence of Sarge frolicking in the snow. ๐
I think my version will make a wonderful table topper. I attached a hanging sleeve just in case though. Complements the antique quilt top on the pie safe nicely.
I added a shirting fabric and from Little Gatherings I had in my stash.
Quilting is an allover freehand pattern. So Fine threads from Superior and Dream Orient batting from Quilter’s Dream Batting.
I love all the texture from the quilting.
The back.
This was a fun quilt to make! I love the block. I definitely will make this one again!
Before quilting.
I had a little visitor while I was taking photos. Louie, like a ninja, magically appeared as soon as I put the candle centerpiece on the quilt. He has his eye on the dried rose hips I use as fillers around the candles.
See what I mean?? LOL! He is obsessed with them! He likes to take one out and then swat it around the floor all through the house. Now, I usually have to keep the centerpiece out of his reach because the rose hips are slowly dwindling away. lol
And he knows he is not supposed to be up there or have them. Do you like his little face when I ask him what he thinks he is doing?? LOL!!!!!
We also had a sweet visitor on our back porch.
Left us some snow tracks and an empty sunflower seed shell.
Sherri and Sinta will be sharing the Schnibbles parade soon. They do a wonderful job hosting such a fun sew-a-long!
