Jersey Girl does not seem very fitting for the my version of Carrie Nelson’s Scnibbles pattern (available here) does it?

Not so girly since I used Snowman Gatherings.  I am thinking of a new name for mine. 🙂 I was planning on making my version super scrappy, but noticed I had a single charm pack of Snowman Gatherings in my stash and inspired by the arctic conditions, I went with this. 🙂 Perfect!  I only had one charm pack, so I made a 4 block version of the quilt.  You normally need about two charm packs or the equivalent for Schnibbles, but Carrie’s patterns can easily be adapted.

I again opted for some outdoor shots.  Only seemed right for this quilt.

You can see the evidence of Sarge frolicking in the snow. 🙂

I think my version will make a wonderful table topper.  I attached a hanging sleeve just in case though.  Complements the antique quilt top on the pie safe nicely.

I added a shirting fabric and from Little Gatherings I had in my stash.

Quilting is an allover freehand pattern.  So Fine threads from Superior and Dream Orient batting from Quilter’s Dream Batting.

I love all the texture from the quilting.

 The back.

This was a fun quilt to make!  I love the block.  I definitely will make this one again!

Before quilting.

I had a little visitor while I was taking photos.  Louie, like a ninja, magically appeared as soon as I put the candle centerpiece on the quilt.  He has his eye on the dried rose hips I use as fillers around the candles.

See what I mean??  LOL!  He is obsessed with them!  He likes to take one out and then swat it around the floor all through the house.  Now, I usually have to keep the centerpiece out of his reach because the rose hips are slowly dwindling away. lol

And he knows he is not supposed to be up there or have them.  Do you like his little face when I ask him what he thinks he is doing?? LOL!!!!!

We also had a sweet visitor on our back porch.

Left us some snow tracks and an empty sunflower seed shell.

Sherri and Sinta will be sharing the Schnibbles parade soon.  They do a wonderful job hosting such a fun sew-a-long!

I love the Snowman Gatherings line–well, all of Lisa's fabric, for that matter.
What a perfect combination of fabrics and pattern. It coordinates so well with the little antique quilt in the dining room.
That is pretty funny about your innocent-looking kitty and the rose hips. : )

Your quilt is gorgeous Linda!!! The blue is so pretty. I like that you just made it into a table topper with the four blocks also.

Linda, your Jersey Girl would fit right in with the weather in "Jersey" today…..It's been snowing since 7:15 and I hear we're getting more off and on all week!

How do I put my Jersey Girl in the parade? I've never joined before 🙂

      Hi Peggy!
First, you are a no-reply blogger, meaning no one can email you back to answer questions or reply to your comments you leave. You need to go into your Blogger profile and change that. 🙂

Yes, snow is the name of the game!! Unfortunately! lol Anyone can join in the parade!! Just email Sinta and/or Sherri your Jersey Girl and you're in! The more the merrier.
      Take care,
      Linda

I love it! And since "my" Jersey Girl loved snow, she would have loved your little quilt too. It looks particularly wonderful in the outdoor pictures. Come to think of it, I built my first snowman while I was visiting my Grandma in New Jersey. 😉

Jersey Shore might be an alternate title as the colors are spot on this time of year. Regardless your little quilt is lovely and looks great as a table topper and on the wall. Well done with only one charm pack!

I love the colors you used in the quilt, really beautiful piece.

A Homer Gathering! It's gorgeous — wintry, subtle, cozy.

I love your quilt and am anxious to do one of my own. Louie reminds me of a kitty I once had and he just loved a stuffed strawberry, he'd even retrieve it for us to toss. Maybe you could make Louie one and fill it with some rose hips, may just save a center piece. Happy quilting!

  • Kindred Quilts says:

Well here's another Schnibbles pattern that must go on my list! LOVE your version of Jersey Girl… especially the 4 block idea. Those outdoor pictures are wonderful… wish winter could be that pretty everyday! Louie is a cutie!!!

This is such a sweet quilt! I just ordered the pattern the other day and it is on it's way! I have 2 Snowman Gatherings charm packs and some pieces I can use for borders etc. I am so excited to see how sweet it looks! Yippee!

The quilt is just so gorgeous. I made mine with KT fabrics, but I see another one in my future with the Snowman Gatherings fabric. Love seeing how you quilted it …. perfect! Can you tell me the name of the red & blue quilt with the Jersey Girl block on it? It look likes a fun one to make …. maybe you have already it on your blog?

  • The Quilted Finish says:

Love this little quilt but I am really here to say how beautiful the quilting is on Log Jam. I love you saying it's doodling and not fancy schmancy….it's still bloody gorgeous!! (excuse me ha ha) and a big congratulations on the 2nd prize ribbon on Portland Rose, so well deserved, the quilting is absolute perfection on such a wonderful design. Hope you are rugged up and keeping warm, it's so mad we have been having heat waves here!!
