My A-1 is up and running just as smooth as can be!!  Knock on wood.

Jamie arrived yesterday morning and set everything up.  Scott stayed home from work to also lend a couple of extra hands.  It pretty much took ALL day to set things up.  Everything works beautifully!  Tension already looks perfect.  My machine seems to be purring like a kitten.  I am so relieved.  Scott was kind enough to take the girls to dance last night, so I could continue to work with Jamie.  My homework last night was just to play, play and play.  He didn’t want me to worry about how my quilting looked.  He just wanted me to run the machine.  Oh and I did!!

I doodled and doodled…and doodled my heart out.

I am the happiest quilter EVER!

I am just thrilled!  I’ll be honest though, I’m exhausted.  Completely drained.  All the anticipation, excitement and worry just hit me like a ton of bricks last night.  I called it a pretty early night, well for me anyways.  Jamie is coming back this morning to work with me again all day.  He told me to get a lot of rest because today is going to be a really BIG day of learning.  Loading and unloading the machine.  How to do daily maintenance.  AND learning how to fix… the dreaded tension.  The tension is perfect right now, but he said he’s going to mess it all up and I have to fix it.  I’m like, “do we have to?”  I’m of the philosophy “if ain’t broke, don’t try tofix it.”  This is good though.  I need all the training I can get because Jamie isn’t going to be with me, holding my hand every day.  Today is definitely going to be a coffee kind of day!

Thanks for all the fun and encouraging comments.  I enjoyed everyone of them!!  You guys are the best!!

How exciting to have it finally up and running! Don't dread learning how to fix it when it messes up. That is the most important bit, saves you from pulling your hair out when things don't go as planned.. ๐Ÿ™‚ Looking forward to seeing what you get up to with it though.

We just returned from a few days away and I see you're already an expert longarmer, Linda! You look so at ease and so happy with your new toy!! What a guy Scott is to give up his space for you, too! He did a fantastic job reinventing the room, too! I am just bursting with happiness for you! And I see we have the same saddle stool to rest our tired "saddles" while we're quilting away!
    Cheers!

Look at you go! Your quilting looks great!!! You're already good at it! I know how drained you must feel. The excitement alone would strain me! You look so cute and at home behind that machine. Guess you got over posting your photo! haha. I love it. Hope you had another good day today. I was in meetings from 8:30-5:30 straight. I'm wiped out, too, but not for the right reasons like you. Haha! Just let me know when you're ready for a quilt to practice on. If I can finish that Mary Engelbreit Christmas panel I have, you can practice on it if you want! haha!

  • Michele says:

I'm glad it's going well and your happy with it! Happy Quilting!

If this is what your quilting looks like when you're just starting, you're going to be winning awards very soon. As for whether you were enjoying it, the smile on your face says it all really – just don't forget to breathe!
