One of my latest client quilts is a quilt made with snail’s trails blocks. Just saying “snail’s trails” makes me smile. 🙂 This is from a repeat client. The quilt will be a wedding gift for my client’s grandson. June did a beautiful job on the piecing. Snail’s trails blocks are a simple block, but need to be handled gently with all the bias edges with all the triangles. How do I know??? I made a snail’s trails quilt for one of the girls. I’ll have to post about that one soon, but first I need to reveal June’s quilt!
She wanted an allover design and I suggested…you guessed it…feathers!!
Love the back!
I’ve been forgetting to post pics of the quilt before it’s quilted. It’s always fun to see the transformation.
I used Hobbs 80/20 batting. The thread is a pale, creamy yellow shade from So Fine. This quilt was a breeze to quilt! No issues. Seems like there is always a little glitch, but the last several quilts have been glitch free. I think it may just be that I’m finally figuring this all out. 🙂
Wishing everyone a great weekend!!
Pretty. I love Snail's Trail. I have a Snail's Trail project planned…fabrics selected, idea sketched. I just love seeing your feathers. Always gorgeous.
Very beautiful. Always loved the snail trail pattern. Your feather quilting is very lovely. Happy Stitching,
I like how your quilting has given the quilt movement.
What a lovely quilt. Yay thumbs up for your feathers. x
Beautiful quilt and your quilting is fantastic! It has been so lovely seeing your progress as a professional quilter and I am glad things are working out.♥
Very nice! I think you definitely have it figured out!
The feathers are a perfect choice for this quilt. It's just beautiful.
Lovely quilt made more beautiful by fab feathers! The grandson will love this, I just know… I like traditional patterns with a modern twist like this!
Wonderful transformation from flismy to quilt.
Beautiful quilt. I love your feathers on it. They make the quilt!
Beautiful! I love the simplicity of this block, but those feathers make it spectacular.
I also just saw Nicole's quilt and it is also a beauty!
The meandering feather is a winner every time. Gives the quilt a fabulous texture. Way to go!
Wonderful quilt to quilt on and the feathering looks beautiful on it.
That is stunning – the feathers are wonderful!
I have always wanted to make a Snail's Trail quilt. Your quilting on it is beautiful Linda. I love the design/feathers!
You did a fabulous job on this quilt and Nicole's quilt at Sisters Choice. Your a natural, but then I've told you that before.
I'd say you figured it out a long time ago, Linda! I really love the transformation on this one! June's work is perfect – a beautiful match with yours!
It's lovely Linda! I do like the before and after pictures….such a transformation!! The quilt you did for Nicole is wonderful too 🙂
What a pretty quilt, and the feathers just make it even prettier.
And Nichol's quilt is just plain fun! I love your work.
That's a great quilt, and, of course, feathers were the perfect choice of quilting pattern for it.
Just beautiful! I am going to try to quilt my own quilt here soon…it's made of aviary and has birds, so I thought feathers would be perfect. Would love to talk to you sometime about how you do the all over feathers, okay?
I love snail trail quilts and this one is beautiful! :0)
What a perfect design for this quilt. I love the before and after pics.
I love the snail's trail block, and I love how she's arranged the colors of the blocks. Your feathers just make that quilt sing. Beautiful!
Love the Snail's Trails! That yellow is great (I love yellow in quilts) and the feather quilting is perfect for it! This quilt has so much movement! Isn't it amazing the transformation that takes place after the quilting is done! I love to see the before and afters!
Nicole's Bliss quilt is gorgeous as well!
Yep, quilting makes the quilt. Both the quilt and your quilting are super. I have always loved snail trails.
